Wildcats Announce Dates of Six Future Contests

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern football announced Wednesday the addition and adjustment of six future games versus Central Michigan, Tulane, Rice and South Dakota State.
The Wildcats and Green Wave will meet for the fifth time in program history, and first time since 1956, on Sept. 12, 2020 at Ryan Field. Chicago's Big Ten Team will visit New Orleans for the second game in the series on Aug. 30, 2025.
The addition of the Green Wave to the 2020 schedule resulted in a contest versus Central Michigan moving from Sept. 12 to Sept. 19. The Wildcats and Chippewas will meet for the second time in program history and first since NU claimed the first-ever meeting on Sept. 25, 2010.
Northwestern and Rice have agreed to a two-game series that will send the Wildcats to Houston on Sept. 8, 2029, before the Owls return to Ryan Field on Sept. 6, 2031. The two teams last met on Nov. 12, 2011 with the Wildcats prevailing, 28-6.
A contest versus South Dakota State has also been added to the Wildcats' futures schedule. The Jackrabbits will visit Ryan Field for the first-ever meeting between the two schools on Sept. 12, 2026.
Northwestern wrapped up the 2017 campaign with a 24-23 victory over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl to earn its second-straight bowl victory for the first time in program history. The Wildcats return seven starters on offense and defense, including All-Big Ten honorees Clayton Thorson, Tommy Doles, Paddy Fisher, Joe Gaziano, Nate Hall, Samdup Miller and Charlie Kuhbander.
Chicago's Big Ten Team features the best home schedule in the nation in 2018 with Ryan Field playing host to Duke, Akron, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. Season ticket information is available at NUSports.com and by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
