EVANSTON, Ill. -- Several members of the Northwestern football family participated in the annual St. Baldrick's Foundation on May 5,

Wiildcats Joe Gaziano, Chad Hanaoka, Austin Hiller, Pete McIntyre and Will Lansbury, along with Assistant A.D for Equipment Mike Valentine and student equipment assistant Jack Funk, all shaved their heads in solidarity with pediatric cancer survivors and to raise money for life-changing and ground-breaking pediatric cancer research.

More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease—in fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined. In the 1950s, almost all kids diagnosed with cancer died. Because of research, today about 90% of kids with the most common type of cancer will live. But for many other types, progress has been limited, and for some kids there is still little hope for a cure.
