EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior Yvonne Chart returned to her home turf of England to represent her local Truro club at the British Fencing Championships held in London, and earned a fifth place finish.

Chart dominated her initial group of fellow UK natives, going 6-0 in pool play to earn the overall No. 2 seed.

She received a bye in the first round of the elimination bracket, before matching up with the 34-seed Olivia O'Connell of the Salle Boston club.

Chart defeated O'Connell 15-5 to set up a bout with 15-seed Catherine Cook from Edinburgh. Chart was victorious again, this time by a score of 15-7, and advanced to the final Table of Eight.

The Table of Eight saw her matched up with 7-seed Chloe Dickson from Edinburgh. Chart lost a narrow 15-9 decision, and Dickson went on to win the tournament.

Overall, Chart won eight bouts and only dropped one. The tournament added to the already successful year for the junior, who achieved a 63-31 overall record as well as a sixth-place finish at the MFC Championships and an honorable mention All-America recognition at the NCAA Championships.
