This year's March Mayhem field includes three of the country's Top-6 teams, and a total of six currently ranked among the Golfstat Top-20. In addition to the No. 13 Wildcats, the leaderboard will feature No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 Stanford, No. 6 Texas, No. 10 USC, and No. 18 Colorado, along with the host Aztecs, Baylor, BYU, California, Iowa State and Pepperdine.
The Farms is one of the premier golf experiences in Southern California. From the club's website:
Hills and hollows characterize the fairways, doglegs are strategically placed, and back-country chaparral serves as rough on perimeter holes. Groves of native trees and water hazards come into play on a number of holes, which require both accuracy and planning. The greens are fast and extremely well-manicured. The fairways are tight. Dramatic elevation changes throughout call for brilliant strategy and athletic prowess. Players enjoy a sense of unspoiled beauty while playing this fair, but challenging course.
The landscape of native ornamental plants creates the look and feel of a botanical garden. The Farms golf course is one of the few courses in the San Diego area which is enjoyable to walk for those who are purists to the game.
"The Farms is one of the most challenging courses off the tee in Southern California. When I'm preparing for a major tournament (like the U.S. Open) and really want to test my driver, I come to The Farms." – Phil Mickelson, Farms member
