EVANSTON, Ill. — Just days after claiming her second-straight platform title at the NCAA Championships, Northwestern junior Olivia Rosendahl has been voted as the Big Ten Diver of the Year.

She is the program's first-ever Big Ten Diver of the Year and the first Wildcat to earn a postseason accolade since Kim Paton was named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Year in 1994.

In addition to Rosendahl's honor, NU diving coach Alik Sarkisian was voted as the conference's Women's Diving Coach of the Year. The duo were named the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's Diver and Coach of the Year Saturday evening at the NCAA Championships.

Rosendahl claimed a gold medal in the platform last Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, to cap an outstanding NCAA Championships. She also earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the 1-meter and was an Honorable Mention All-American with a ninth-place finish the 3-meter. The Los Angeles, California, native's 40 points helped the Wildcats finish 22nd overall as a team.

She was named the Co-Diver of the Big Ten Championships after claiming the 3-meter title for the first time with a school-record 389.95. Rosendahl earned All-Big Ten honors with her gold medal in the 3-meter, a runner-up finish in the platform and fourth-place finish in the 1-meter at the conference championships.

Sarkisian was named the Big Ten Women's Diving Coach of the Year for the first time and has been instrumental in Rosendahl's career over the last three years. His tutelage has helped Rosendahl earn six All-America honors during her career, including three this season, while becoming the first diving national champion in program history. In addition to Rosendahl's success, junior Eryn Scannell and senior Monique Demaisip also qualified and competed at the NCAA Zone C Championships earlier this season.
