COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defending national platform champion and three-time All-American Olivia Rosendahl is headed back to the NCAA Championships for a third-straight year after qualifying in all three events at the NCAA Zone C Championships.
Rosendahl opened the Zone Championships with a second-place finish in the 1-meter springboard on Thursday and returned on Friday to finish third in the 3-meter springboard. The junior capped the three-day event with the top score in her best event, the platform, on Saturday.
The Los Angeles, California, native was awarded the Co-Diver of the Big Ten Championships earlier this season after winning the 3-meter with a school record. She also placed second in the platform and fourth in the 1-meter at the Big Ten Championships. Rosendahl became the first Northwestern diver in program history to win a national championship with her gold medal in the platform at the 2017 NCAA Championships. She is a three-time All-American, earning the honor twice in the platform (2016, '17) and once in the 3-meter (2017).
Junior Eryn Scannell and senior Monique Demaisip also competed in the springboard events at zones. Scannell's best finish was 25th in the 1-meter competition, while Demaisip finished 39th in the 3 meter.
The NCAA Championships will be hosted by Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio March 15-18. A full preview of the event will be available on NUSports.com later this week.
