EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern first year Calypso Sheridan has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Wednesday.

Sheridan dominated the competition last week in a conference dual meet versus Iowa, winning three individual events and leading off the Wildcats' winning 200 medley relay team. The Brisbane, Australia, native claimed victories in the 100 back (55.48), 200 back (1:59.92) and 200 individual medley (2:04.66).

She currently leads the team with 17 individual victories in her first season with the 'Cats and her 1:57.82 in the 200 IM from the TYR Invitational currently ranks sixth in the Big Ten.

Northwestern defeated the Hawkeyes, 163.5-134.5, and will be back in action Friday and Saturday in a Big Ten tri-dual versus Minnesota and Purdue. This weekend's action is the Wildcats' final tune up before the Big Ten Championships hosted by Ohio State Feb. 14-17.
