Pulliam Leads NU's Late-Game Run Against Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Despite a late point-scoring flurry — led by a pair of double-digit point-scoring Wildcats — Northwestern dropped a tight matchup on the road to Purdue, 63-60, at Mackey Arena on Thursday night.
NU was led by first-year guard Lindsey Pulliam, who accumulated a team-high 20 points on eight-of-18 shooting. Sophomore forward Abi Scheid was right behind her with 18 points, including converting four of five shot attempts from beyond the arc in the game.
The Wildcats outshot the Boilermakers from long-range throughout the contest, as NU posted a 60 percent (6-of-10) clip compared to Purdue's 43 percent (6-of-14) mark.
Junior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah turned in a solid rebounding performance, scooping up a game-high 13 boards. She was the only player on either team with double-digit rebounds.
Kunaiyi-Akpanah contributed to an efficient offensive rebounding game, as NU out-performed Purdue, 17-14. The Wildcats also out-blocked the Boilermakers, seven to four.
Northwestern outscored Purdue, 49-43, after the first quarter to tighten the score. In the fourth quarter, NU led, 24-19.
Chicago's Big Ten Team remains on the road Sunday when it travels to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers for the second time in three games. Northwestern won the first contest last Thursday in Evanston, 69-60. Tip is set for 4:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
