Six Home Meets on Tap for Women's Swimming & Diving in 2017-18

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern women's swimming and diving team announced on Monday its schedule for the 2017-2018 season. Led by third-year head coach, Abby Steketee, the Wildcats will host a total of six home meets and take four road trips before the Big Ten Championship in the upcoming 2017-2018 season. The schedule includes meets with three teams who finished ranked in the CSCAA Coaches Poll last season.
The Wildcats' dive into the season with a meeting veruss Georgia (Oct 20), who finished ranked No. 4 in the CSCAA Coaches Poll last season, followed by another home meet against Georgia Tech (Oct 21).
Following the opening weekend, Northwestern will travel to Champaign, Illinois, on October 27 for a meet with the Fighting Illini and Rutgers. The next day, the Wildcats return home to host the University of Chicago and UIC (Oct 28).
Northwestern then welcomes Wisconsin, who finished last season ranked No. 12 in the CSCAA Coaches Poll last season, for a home meet on November 11. The following week, Northwestern will host the TYR Invitational from November 17 to November 19.
After some time off, the Wildcats' will return to action when they travel to Fort Myers, Florida, for a meet against Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 17). Then, to kick off 2018, Northwestern will travel to Austin, Texas, for the USA Swimming Arena Pro Series (Jan 12-Jan 13).
After their trip to Austin, Chicago's Big Ten Team will return home for a Big Ten meet against Iowa (Jan 20). The following week, the 'Cats will travel to Minneapolis for a two-day tri-meet versus Purdue and Minnesota (Jan 26-27) as a final prep for the Big Ten Championships.
The Big Ten Championships will be hosted by Ohio State University and begin on February 14, running through February 17. The following month, the NCAA Championships return to Columbus and will run from March 14 to March 17.
