Cho Fires Second-Lowest Round In 'Cats History

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Sarah Cho carded the second-lowest round in Northwestern history, a second-round 6-under 66, to rocket up the Mason Rudolph Championship leaderboard on Saturday.

Cho recorded four birdies over the front-nine to make the turn at 2-under, and then four more during a dazzling back-nine run to finish off the 6-under 66 and wrap up in the day in a tie for 13th. The San Diego native's score has been bested in the annals of Wildcats golf only by Hannah Kim's 64 in the 2016 Hurricane Invitational.
The senior is one of three Wildcats inside the Top-20 after 36 holes. Kim fired her second straight under-par round, carding a 71, while junior Stephanie Lau posted an even-par 72 to share 17th place with Kim at 3-under for the tournament. Janet Mao was 1-under on the day, to get to 1-under for the competition, and give head coach Emily Fletcher four student-athletes under par heading into the third-and-final round.
The Wildcats will tee off Sunday's final round at 8:50 a.m. CT, paired with the host Vanderbilt Commodores and the Auburn Tigers.
