EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will host its ninth-annual Wildcat Golf Day on Monday, Sept. 18, at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, to benefit both the NU men's and women's golf programs.
"I couldn't be more excited to host this year's Wildcat Golf Day at Knollwood Club," said Director of Golf Pat Goss. "It is always a fun day celebrating Northwestern Golf and our amazing student-athletes with boosters and alumni. I'm especially excited to celebrate our women's runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship and share that experience with the supporters whose generosity made it possible. After spending a day with our players you realize what makes Northwestern such a special and unique place in the world of college athletics."
The event includes lunch, a 1 p.m. shotgun start, a clinic, heavy hors d'oeuvres and an auction. Each group will play nine holes with a Northwestern golfer, switching at the turn. The cost is $1,000 per person or $4,000 for an entire foursome.
The Northwestern women's golf team is coming off a season in which they were the stroke play champions of the 2017 NCAA National Championship, in addition to finishing second in the nation the match play competition. On the men's side, rising senior Dylan Wu is coming off a season in which he was a second team All-American and he currently holds the second lowest career scoring average in Northwestern history, trailing only former world No. 1 Luke Donald.
In addition to serving as one of the host courses of the 2012 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships (when it played to a 7,148 yard, par-71 layout), the club was the host for the 1982 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the 1956 Amateur. It was also the hose of PGA Cup Matches of 1986, and previously served as host of the Windon Memorial in 2000 and 2013.
In addition to participating in Wildcat Golf Day, several sponsorship opportunities exist for the event. For more information or to access a registration form for Wildcat Golf Day, download the .pdf invitation at the top of this page.
