EVANSTON, Ill. — In what has grown into one of the program's enduring traditions, Northwestern men's soccer will kick off the 2017 campaign on Tuesday, Aug. 8 (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning) with the Sixth Annual Midnight Madness at Trienens Indoor. To take advantage of getting in gear at the first moment allowed by NCAA rules, head coach Tim Lenahan will whistle the start of its first practice at 12:01 a.m. CT.

Admission to the event is complimentary. A partial schedule of activities is below:

12:01-12:30 a.m. - Team warm-up & activities (including team penalty kick contest)

12:30-12:45 a.m. - PK contest with prizes for Northwestern fans

Northwestern begins its competition with three exhibition matches, including a home preseason match on Saturday, Aug. 12, against Eastern Illinois with action at Martin Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. CT. The Wildcats then head to Bradley (Aug. 15) and SIU-Edwardsville (Aug. 18) to round out its preseason campaign.

The Wildcats begin their 38th regular season, and 17th under Lenahan, when they welcome Valparaiso to Martin Stadium on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.  Northwestern holds a 13-5 advantage over Valparaiso in the all-time series meetings between the two programs. The Wildcats topped the Crusaders, 1-0, in their last contest during the 2014 season.

Fans can purchase season tickets for the Wildcats' fall sports by calling the Northwestern ticket office at 888-GO-PURPLE or by visiting NUSports.com.

Adult season tickets are available for $49 while youth can get theirs for just $29. The Northwestern family plan admits two adults and three youth for $99. Single-game tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for youth and $3 for groups of 15 or more.
