Match Against Mexican National Team Highlights Northwestern Spring Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. – Head coach Michael Moynihan announced a seven-match spring schedule, highlighted by an April 25 scrimmage against the Mexican National Team at Martin Stadium.
After reaching the Round of 16 last season, Northwestern will challenge itself against several local opponents during the spring season to prepare for the 2017 season. The Wildcats finished the regular season with a 14-1-3 record, advanced to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals and won two matches in the NCAA Tournament to reach the Round of 16 for the first time since 1998.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will face Grand Valley State to begin the spring slate at 2 p.m. on April 8. The next day, the 'Cats begin the Chicago Cup against UIC at 3:30 p.m. DePaul and Loyola will square off right before that at 1 p.m. The winners and losers of those matches will play each other on April 23. All of those matches will be played at Martin Stadium.
The Mexican National Team comes to Evanston on Tuesday, April 25, for a match at a time yet to be determined.
The Wildcats hit the road on April 30 for a pair of matches in Milwaukee, Wis., facing Wisconsin at noon and then Marquette at 1:30 p.m.
Northwestern comes back home to finish off the spring schedule in May with a match against DePaul at 1 p.m. on May 6. The annual alumni game puts a wrap on the slate. That will be Sunday, May 7 at either noon or 1 p.m.
