EVANSTON, Ill.
-- The Northwestern men's soccer team spent the morning of Feb. 12 spinning for a good cause at the annual Cycle for Survival fundraiser.

Founded by Northwestern soccer alumnus, David Linn, and his wife, Jennifer, this is a cause that is very important to the Wildcats as the event helps fund research and raise awareness for rare cancers. Jennifer was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2004 and passed away in 2011 but Cycle for Survival is a way to honor Jennifer's legacy.

Members from the Northwestern men's and women's soccer teams and the field hockey program took to their bikes and pedaled from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants heard speeches from Linn, NU men's soccer coach Tim Lenahan and inspirational stories from cancer survivors along with family members of those affected by cancer.

The Wildcats raised over $22,000 this year for the noteworthy cause. To this date, Cycle for Survival has raised over $23 million in this year alone. You can donate through April 1 here.
