Komoto Finishes Strong To Lead 'Cats On Day 1 At Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – Kacie Komoto birdied her final four holes during the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge to finish the day at 2-over with a Top-20 spot on the leaderboard at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The No. 16 Wildcats lineup in the spring-opening event includes Komoto, two-time Big Ten Player of the Year Hannah Kim, reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year Stephanie Lau, All-Big Ten honorees Sarah Cho and Janet Mao, and Monica Matsubara, who earned the right to compete as an individual (not contributing to team score).
Head coach Emily Fletcher's squad wrapped up Sunday's opening round at 18-over, just six strokes outside the Top-8 with 36 holes to play on Monday and Tuesday.
