Fletcher, Miller Welcome Three New Wildcats On National Signing Day

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's golf has added three talented newcomers on National Signing Day, head coach Emily Fletcher announced Thursday. The No. 12 Wildcats will welcome Jane Lu, Kelly Sim and Kelly Su to campus in the fall of 2018 to begin their collegiate careers.
 
"We're thrilled to add these three exceptional student-athletes to our program next season," said Fletcher. "These young women have shown tremendous enthusiasm for all things Northwestern and value the things most important to our golf program and athletic department.  We're confident this trio will contribute immediately to our future success." 
 
Jane Lu
Shanghai, China // Shanghai American School Puxi (Eagles)
 
Finished as runner-up at the 2017 Amino VITAL Junior Championship … Earned a Top-16 result at the 2016 United States Girls' Junior Championship … Recorded a Top-3 finish at the AJGA Junior at Centennial … Parents are Yan Hua Lin and Wen Chuen Lu … Anticipated major is psychology.
 
Kelly Sim
Edgewater, New Jersey // Academy of the Holy Angels
 
Three-time All-State honoree … Three-time team Most Valuable Player … Two-time New Jersey State Champion captured the 2015 title in dramatic fashion after being down four with five holes to play … Won the 2017 AJGA Junior at Fiddler's Elbow, posting an AJGA record 54-hole score (64-68-68=200) and winning by a 16-stroke margin … Top finisher for Team New Jersey and the 2017 USGA Women's State Team Championship … Angels team captain … Honor Roll student throughout her high school career … French honor society … Mu Alpha Theta math honor society … Parents are Johnny and Cathy Sim … Anticipated major is undecided.

Scottsdale, Arizona // Chaparral High School
 
Two-time (2016, '17) AIA state champion … Two-time (2014, '15) AIA state runner-up … Four-time Scottsdale city champion … 2017 Antigua National High School Golf Invitational Champion … Advanced to Round-of-32 at 2017 United States Girls' Junior Championship at Boone Valley Golf Club … Qualified for the 2016 United States Women's Amateur Championship, where she competed alongside Wildcats Kacie Komoto, Janet Mao and Brooke Riley … Four-time team Most Valuable Player … 2017 team captain … Parents Marian Ma and Victor Su are both aerospace engineers … Anticipated major is undecided.
 
Northwestern women's golf finished the 2017 campaign as runners-up at the NCAA Championships, after winning the stroke play portion of the event by a wide margin. The 'Cats wrapped up their fall schedule last week at the prestigious East Lake Cup, and will now be off from competition until Feburary.
