Rosendahl Repeats, Sheridan Earns First Weekly Big Ten Honor

EVANSTON, Ill. — Junior diver Olivia Rosendahl has been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week for the second-consecutive week and first-year Calypso Sheridan has been named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career.
Rosendahl continued her dominant start to the season with eight wins in four duals last week versus Illinois, Rutgers, UIC and Chicago. Rosendahl set a season high with a 345.40 on the 3-meter springboard in the tri-dual versus UIC and Chicago. The Los Angeles, California, native earned her ninth career Big Ten weekly award. She was named Big Ten Diver of the Week three times last season and earned four Freshman of the Week honors in 2015-16.
Sheridan picked up 15 victories in four dual meets last week. Sheridan swept the competition at the Illinois/Rutgers tri-dual, earning wins in the 400 medley relay, 100 back, 200 breast and 200 IM; setting a pool record in the 200 IM in 2:02.40. The next day she picked up seven more wins and a second place finish, which included her swimming the 500 free for the first time this season.
The Wildcats picked up four victories as a team last week over Illinois, Rutgers, UIC and Chicago to improve to 4-2 in dual meets this season. The 'Cats will be back in action on Nov. 11 at the Norris Aquatics Center when they host Wisconsin.
