Kim was Northwestern's top finisher at last year's Windy City, posting a seventh-place result for her second straight Top-10 in the event. The University of Georgia captured the 2016 Windy City team championship for a second consecutive year by firing a 10-under 854, four strokes better than runner-up Stanford. The Cardinal were led by individual medalist Andrea Lee, who birdied the 54th hole to card a final round 67 and edge Georgia's Bailey Tardy – the reigning Windy City champion - by one stroke. The Stanford rookie finished with a 10-under 206 to earn the win in her collegiate debut. Glen View Club relentlessly challenged one of the deepest fields in women's college golf through. Only three (of 14) teams and 11 (of 78) individuals finished under par.

Established in 1918, Northmoor features 27 holes of golf, with its original 18 holes designed by legendary golf course designer Donald Ross.
