EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior Puck Pentenga (Ede, The Netherlands/Marnix College) has been awarded the title of NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week. It is the first such honor of her career.
Β
Pentenga is the first Wildcat to earn the award since Pascale Massey was recognized in September 2016.

The distinction comes two days after Pentenga was given Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Pentenga's offensive talents shined in Northwestern's overtime win at No. 22 Iowa, in which she scored three of Northwestern's five goals, recording her first hat trick of her career. It is the first hat trick by a Wildcat this season.

Following her success at Iowa, Pentenga helped lead Northwestern to another win over a ranked opponent, contributing her Big Ten-leading 14th assist of the season in a 2-1 double-overtime defeat of No. 24 UMass on Sunday.

In addition to leading the Big Ten in assists, Pentenga also ranks first with 85 shots for the season. Her 30 points puts her fourth in league, and first for Northwestern.
Β
Additionally, Northwestern back Sophia Miller has been selected to participate in the annual Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Senior Game. The contest is being held Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at the University of Louisville. Midfielder Elena Curley also was selected as an alternate for the event.
Β
The Senior Game contest will be played following the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Tournament.

Northwestern (12-4, 5-1 B1G) has won its last six games and 10 of its last 11 contests. The last away matchup of the season will be held 3 p.m. Central this Friday versus No. 4 Michigan. Michigan has already clinched a share of the Big Ten regular season title, and Northwestern can earn its share as well with a win on Friday and a victory over Michigan State at the Wildcats' last home game on Sunday.
