EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Erin Larner and Maddie Lipp topped teammates Lee Or and Alex Chatt to capture the doubles title Monday at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by the University of Michigan.

The matchup was tied 2-2 early on before Larner and Lipp managed to pull away to earn the title.

It is the first time that Northwestern has claimed the doubles title at the ITA Midwest Regional since 2010 when Nida Hamilton and Linda Abu Mushrefova were victorious.

By virtue of the win, Larner and Lipp have earned a spot in the doubles draw for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in California next month.

In singles action, the quarterfinal round featured another Northwestern vs. Northwestern matchup as Or took on Rheeya Doshi. Doshi emerged victorious in a close 6-4, 7-6 match to move on the semifinal round. However, Doshi fell just short of reaching Tuesday's championship match as she fell to Ohio State's Shiori Fukuda 6-2, 6-1.

Northwestern returns to action Oct. 27-28 when it travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Roberta Alison Classic.
