EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern Wildcats will hit the road for a three-game road tilt, beginnging with a matchup against No. 22 Rutgers on Friday, Sept. 23, before facing off against Maryland on Sunday afternoon. The #B1GCats enter Friday's matchup as one of three remaining teams in DI soccer with a perfect winning percentage. 

SCOUTING RUTGERS
• Rutgers currently holds a 6-1-1 overall record and ar ranked No. 22 by the NSCAA.
• The Scarlet Knights lead the Big Ten in shots on goal with 72 on the year.
• Senior Madison Tiernan is tied for the RU lead with 10 points and paces the offense with four goals.
• Freshman Nicole Whitley is tied for the points lead with Tiernan after scoring the game-winning goal last time out against Maryland.

SCOUTING MARYLAND
• The Terps hold a 2-6-1 overall record with wins against Penn and William & Mary.
• Maryland has seen three players score their first career goals this season.
• Sophomore Jarena Harmon is second in the Big Ten with six goals.
• Ray Leone is in his first saeson as Maryland head coach.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Junior Lauren Clem has been a solid presence for the Wildcats' defense this year, playing every minute of the 2016 season. So far this year, she has recorded eight clean sheets, allowing just one goal in nine games.

Northwestern's .889 shutout percentage second in the country just behind Lehigh (1.0). Clem's goals-against-average (GAA) in 2016 is currently .110 to rank second in the country and first in the conference. Her save percentage of .958 ranks fourth among NCAA DI goalkeepers.

Against Indiana State, Lauren Clem recorded a program record with her 25th career shutout. Clem now has 30-career cleansheets.

BALANCED ATTACK
Eight Wildcats have registered goals so far this year. Sophomore Brenna Lovera leads NU with 12 points (6g, 0a) through nine matches, while freshman Maddy Lucas and junior Kassidy Gorman have two goals apiece.

NON-CONFERENCE WRAP UP
The Wildcats opened their 2016 slate with two-straight shutout victories against JMU and VCU before a 2-1 win over crosstown rival DePaul. NU rattled off four-consecutive shutouts to close out non-conference play as the Wildcats have not conceded a goal for 626:39 minutes.
