EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior Kacie Komoto was named the Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

The Honolulu native fired a final round of 6-under 66, including eight birdies, to finish in seventh-place at the 38th Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at the University of New Mexico Championship Course. Komoto's three-round total of 8-under 208 led Northwestern to a fourth-place result at the season-opening event. Her mark was the third-lowest 54-hole in score history and a career-best effort for a three-round event.

Komoto's final round of 66 tied for the second-best loop in school history.

Northwestern competes next this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt's Legends Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
