Roberge Nets Two in Northwestern's Exhibition Win Over Colgate

GALLOWAY, N.J. — Senior Mike Roberge netted a pair of goals in Northwestern's, 2-1, come-from-behind win over Colgate on Tuesday afternoon.
The teams played two, 40-minute halves with an additional 20-minute period in the exhibition match.
The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead when Oliver Harris launched a 20-yard volley in the 4th minute that found the back of the net. Northwestern quickly countered with an equalizer in the ninth minute on a M. Roberge blast from the right side of the box.
Northwestern kept up the offensive pressure in the first half, outshooting Colgate, 6-3, in the period. The Wildcats went on to outshoot the Raiders by an 11-10 margin in the contest.
John Moderwell set up the game-winning goal in the 80th minute, sending a cross into the box that found M. Roberge, who headed it past the keeper to go ahead, 2-1.
Robbie White, Braden Thuraisingham and Francisco Tomasino all saw action in the net for the 'Cats. Tomasino led the trio with two saves in 51 minutes of action and zero goals allowed.
Sam Forsgren tallied a pair of shots in the game, both of which were on net.
Northwestern will wrap up its weeklong-exhibition trip to New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 19, when takes on St. John's at 6 p.m. CT.
