EVANSTON, Ill. — Senior attacker Kaleigh Craig, junior midfielder Sheila Nesselbush and sophomore attacker Selena Lasota were three of 50 player named to the 2016 Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour, Watch List Tuesday evening.

The Tewaaraton Foundation announced both the men's and women's watch lists at an event Tuesday night, a list that includes the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlights the early contenders for the 2016 Tewaaraton Award.

Sophomore Selena Lasota was added to the award's watch list midway through her freshman campaign a year ago and is again on the list for the 2016 season after scoring 69 goals and earning second-team All-American  honors in 2015. She was the 2015 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and an All-Big Ten selection and went on to lead the Canadian U-19 squad to a gold medal at the FIL Rathbones World Championships.

Senior Kaleigh Craig was also an All-Big Ten selection last season and was named a Big Ten Player to Watch earlier this winter. Coming off an injury in 2014, Craig hit her stride midway through last season and is currently riding a 15-game goal streak with at least two goals in 14 of those contests.

Junior Sheila Nesselbush is also on the Tewaaraton Watch List for the first time after earning All-Big Ten honors last season and becoming the 'Cats' most reliable player end to end. The stat filler led the team last season with 36 ground balls, was second with 65 draw controls and scored the fourth most goals on the squad with 27. Through two games this season, she leads the team in both draw controls and ground balls.

Players not named to the initial list have several opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch list additions, if applicable, will be announced on March 17 and April 7. On April 28, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions. Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced on May 12 and invited to the ceremony. The 16th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 2.
