EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will celebrate Senior Day on Friday night in the team's final home dual of the 2015-16 season against Duke. The meet is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Garrison White, Dominick Malone and Jameson Oster will be recognized at intermission.
The Wildcats wrap up the regular season with the final conference dual at Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon at noon.
Both matches will be streamed live on BTN Plus and live scoring will be available on TrackWrestling. All links can be found in the table above.
FRESH FACES
• All 10 matches on Friday feature first time meetings. Duke and Northwestern have some recent history with the Wildcats winning a 23-16 decision in 2014 and claiming a 33-12 win in 2012. The only wrestlers on either team who have competed before are Jason Tsirtsis and Connor Bass, who wrestled during the 2014 match. Tsirtsis won that bout by an 8-1 decision at 149 lbs., but Bass has since moved up to 157 lbs.
IN THE POLLS
• Jason Tsirtsis is ranked sixth at 149 lbs. by FloWrestling and InterMat and seventh by The Open Mat this week.
• Dominick Malone is in the national polls for the third consecutive week at 133 lbs. He is ranked No. 19 by InterMat and the Coaches Panel. He has an RPI of 12. Jameson Oster is also ranked No. 19 in the InterMat poll, his first appearance in that poll this season and has climbed to 16th in the FloWrestling rankings after two weeks at No. 20. He is 24th in the Coaches Panel rankings.
NATIONAL LEADERS
• Northwestern seniors Garrison White (125) and Dominick Malone (133) are among the nation's best in tech falls and falls, respectively.
• White is tied for 10th among all NCAA wrestlers with five tech falls. Illinois' Isaiah Martinez (157) leads the category with 12.
• Malone is seventh among all NCAA wrestlers with eight wins by fall. He is tied with such names as Nick Gwiazdowski (NC State), Alex Dieringer (Oklahoma State) and Zach Brunson (Illinois), but Malone has finished his eight pins in a total time of 14:17, which is significantly quicker than any of the others. Navy's Michael Woulfe (197) leads the NCAA with 14 pins.
