Slowing dominated the 2016 TYR Invitational, setting three different Northwestern school and Norris Aquatics Center pool records and posting three NCAA 'B' cut times. She opened the weekend with a win in the 500 free, touching the pad in 4:40.58. The time broke NU school and pool records, was the ninth-fastest in the country this season and qualified her for the NCAA Championships in the event.
On Sunday, Slowing swam a 16:01.28 in the 1650 free - the third fastest time posted in the country this season - to set a school and pool record. She also set a school and pool record with her 1,000 free split of 9:42.71.
The 2016 Olympian later hit a NCAA 'B' cut in the 200 fly with a second-place finish at 1:59.27. Slowing was also a part of the 400 medley and 800 free relay teams that finished first over the weekend. Despite missing the 200 free championship final on Saturday, she posted the fastest time of the invitational in the consolation final to finish 9th.
