EVANSTON, Ill. -- Spend your Thanksgiving with the 'Cats as Northwestern hosts No. 16 Florida on Friday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Saturday's game will be streamed live on BTN Plus on BTN2Go and aired on WNUR.
The game marks the first meeting between the two squads.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
The 'Cats enter Friday's matchup with a 3-1 overall record. After tipping off the season 3-0, Northwestern was handed its first loss of the year to No. 20 DePaul. Nia Coffey leads the Wildcats in scoring with 17 points per game, while Ashley Deary, Christen Inman and Lydia Rohde join in double figures. Against Oral Roberts, Deary recorded her 1,000th career point to become the third active Wildcat to accomplish the feat.
Northwestern ranks third in the county in blocks per game and rank among the Big Ten's top three in free-throw percentage (75 percent) and fewest turnovers. As a team, the 'Cats are shooting 44 percent from the field, including 33 percent from long range and 75 percent from the charity stripe, while holding the opposition to just 34 percent from the floor.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
Florida heads to Evanston with a perfect 4-0 record, including its most recent wins over Temple and Arkansas State. The Gators have out scored their opponents by more than 20 points per game and are shooting 48 percent from the field as a team. After an impressive week, the Gators now rank No. 16 in the Associate Press national poll.
Florida returned its top three scorers from last year's SEC-leading scoring offense in Ronni Williams, Eleanna Christinaki and Haley Lorenzen. Last season, the Gators tied for fourth in the final regular-season standings with a 10-6 league record. Florida was one of an SEC-record nine teams selected for the 2016 NCAA Tournament last season, but fell in the first round to Albany.
