A LOOK AT NORTHWESTERN
The 'Cats enter Satuday's matchup with a perfect 3-0 record after wins over Hampton, Oral Roberts and Missouri State to start the year. Northwestern had four players in double-digits in all three contests as senior forward Nia Coffey leads Northwestern with 17 points per game. Against Oral Roberts, senior guard Ashley Deary recorded her 1,000th career point to become the third active Wildcat to accomplish the feat. Deary is currently the NCAA's active career steals lead and is just 52 steals shy of breaking the Big Ten's career record.
The Wildcats are playing their first road game of the year and are averaging 68.7 points per game while holding their opposition to just 51.7 points per contest.
Chicago's Big Ten Team leads the country in blocked shots, averaging 10.3 per game, and ranks among the top three teams in the Big Ten free-throw percentage (75.0) and 3-point field goal defense (29.1). As a team, the 'Cats are shooting 44 percent from the field, including 33 percent from long range and 75 percent from the charity stripe, while holding the opposition to just 29 percent from the floor.
A LOOK AT DEPAUL
DePaul (2-0) opened the season with wins over Appalachian State and UAB. The Blue Demons were paced by Jessica January's near triple-double in both games and the senior guard went on to be named the Maggie Dixon Classic MVP and the BIG EAST Player of the Week. This season, January is averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.
Ashton Millender (20.0) and Amarah Coleman (11.5) are also averaging double figures for the Blue Demons who are putting up nearly 95 points per game. Jacqui Grant leads DePaul on the glass with 10.0 rebounds and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against UAB.
DePaul is coming off a 27-9 season and the program's fourth NCAA Sweet 16 appearance a season ago. The Blue Demons have won at least a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season the last three seasons and were the outright champions in 2016 and 2014.
