EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern hits the road for the first time this season on Saturday when it travels to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif. The dual is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. CT.

The Wildcats opened the season with dominant wins at home last weekend against UChicago (47-3) and North Central (41-0).

The team's young talent was on display with five wrestlers making their collegiate debuts. Johnny Sebastian, Anthony Rubinetti, Jason Ipsarides, Alec McKenna and Shayne Oster all went 2-0 in their first Northwestern appearances.

Redshirt-sophomore Bryce Brill jumped up to No. 21 in the national TrackWrestling rankings at 157 lbs. after opening the season with a pin and a major decision.

Cal Poly is 2-1 with wins against Indiana and San Francisco State and a loss to Stanford. Senior Colt Shorts has won all three of his matches at 157 lbs.

The two teams have squared off once before at the Windy City Duals in December 2014, when the 'Cats bested the Mustangs, 38-12. Mitch Sliga and Ben Sullivan are the only current Wildcat starters to appear in that 2014 dual.
