Vassar Invitational on Tap for Wildcats

EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 7 Northwestern travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Sunday for a full day of competition at the Vassar Invitational.
The Wildcats will fence in eight dual meets across the entire day. In order, they will face Queens, Fairleigh-Dickenson, Sacred Heart, Haverford, Tufts, Stevens Tech, Cornell, and Vassar.
Last weekend, the Wildcats squared off against some of the best teams in the country at the Elite Invitational in Philadelphia, where they collected a win over Johns Hopkins.
Sharon Chen, Maddy Curzon, and Anna Tolley all led the way for the 'Cats last weekend with 6-3 records. Stephanie Chan and Stella Pointeau went 5-4.
The Vassar Invitational will be the fourth event of the season. Northwestern opened its season with strong individual showings at the USFA Remenyik Open and the USFA North American Cup in October.
Last season, NU was a scorching 7-1 at Vassar, with wins over Queens, Farleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart, Haverford, Tufts, Stevens Tech and Vassar. Senior Julia Abelsky was a perfect 12-0 on that day.
