LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern's midweek match against No. 11/6 Loyola was cancelled due to unplayable field conditions. Prior to that, the #B1GCats suffered a 2-1 defeat on the road at Michigan State (Oct. 22).

Junior goalkeeper Francisco Tomasino made his 13th appearance of the season in the net and finished the game with seven saves. Elo Ozumba scored his third goal of the season in the 88th minute.

SENIOR DAY
The team will honor its six seniors, Nathan Dearth, Brandon Medina, Mike Roberge, Jeffrey Hopson, Getenet Tuji, and Drew Rosenberg before the match.

Nathan Dearth has been a mainstay of the Wildcats' defense for four years and is a team captain this season. He has played in all but two matches possible in his career, and has started every game since his sophomore season. He has two goals and five assists overall including a goal against DePaul this season and both assists in a 2-1 overtime win over Michigan.

Brandon Medina has been a creative force throughout his tenure at Northwestern. He was a unanimous selection for the Big Ten All-Freshman team with 11 points in 11 appearances in 2014 and led the 'Cats in assists in his sophomore season. This year, as a team captain, he has three goals and an assist, including both goals in the first-ever competitive soccer match at Martin Stadium. He also had along-range blast that forced overtime against Rutgers on Oct. 14.

Mike Roberge has led the line valiantly this season and has been a goal-scoring threat throughout all four years. He has 10 career goals and was second on the team in points in his junior season. This year he is tied for the team lead in points (seven) and has scored two dramatic game-winning overtime goals against Michigan (Sept. 25) and then-No. 2 Notre Dame (Oct. 18).

Jeffrey Hopson has been another rock for the Wildcats over the past four years and is also a team captain this season. He is one of a few Wildcats to appear in every match in his career and Sunday's match will be his 70th consecutive game. He has four goals and six assists in his career including two goals and an assist this season.

Getenet Tuji has been a valuable forward to the team throughout his career. Despite missing most of his freshman season due to injury, he bounced back to become a tough defensive forward over the next three years. Tuji has one career goal, but it was a special one, coming in overtime against Maryland in 2015.

Drew Rosenberg has grown into his role as a key Wildcat defender over his career. Sunday's match will mark his 50th career appearance and his tenth straight start in the backline. Rosenberg has two career assists, including one against Michigan this season in an overtime victory.

THE OPPONENT
Penn State is 8-6-2 overall this season and 4-3-0 in conference play. The Nittany Lions are still looking for their first road victory of the season as the club is 0-4-1 away from home in 2016. Connor Maloney leads the team in points with 19 on seven goals and five assists. Evan Finney has seen the majority of action in net this season and leads the Big Ten Conference in save percentage, ranks third in shutouts per game (0.38), fourth in saves per game (3.30) and goals against average and ties for sixth with three shutouts on the season.

The last time both sides met in November of 2015, Northwestern took home the spoils, 2-1, thanks to an 83rd minute winner from Mike Roberge.

POSTSEASON
NU is locked into the seventh seed regardless of Sunday's results, and will face the second-place team in the standings in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals. Penn State sits third in the conference standings heading into the final match day with 12 points.
