EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern's women's swimming & diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, as the squad had a grade point above 3.0 in the 2015 fall quarter.

With a team GPA of 3.41 from the fall, the Wildcats had the second-highest GPA in the Big Ten.

"Our team believes that we can reach the highest levels of academics and athletics at Northwestern," said head coach Abby Steketee. "I'm so proud of how the swimmers and divers have taken on challenges and been willing to get out of their comfort zones as they chase big goals. I'm also grateful for the world-class support Northwestern provides its student-athletes in their academic pursuits."

The Wildcats have a history of academic success. Last year, Lauren Abruzzo was a CSCAA First Team Scholar All-American honoree. After last season, Northwestern had 14 swimmers and divers receive Academic All-Big Ten honors. Abruzzo, Madeleine Klichowski, and Annika Winsnes were also named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars in 2015.
