Junior recorded a hat trick in win over Boston College

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior midfielder Dominique Masters (Canterbury, United Kingdom/The King's School) has been honored as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday. It is the first such award of her career.

Masters played a huge role in the Wildcats' 3-1 victory over 13th-ranked and previously unbeaten Boston College on Sunday. In the contest between the teams in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Masters scored all three of NU's goals to record her third career hat trick.

She got the scoring started in the fourth minute of play to get Northwestern out to an early lead and then made it 2-0 with an insurance goal in the 22nd. With NU clinging to a one-goal advantage late in the match, Masters tallied her third of the game to seal the victory.

Through four contests this season, she leads Northwestern (2-2) with four goals and eight points. The Wildcats are ranked No. 9 in the nation in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll. NU is back in action at 2 p.m. Central time Tuesday when it takes on Ball State in Muncie, Indiana.
