EVANSTON, Ill. – Freshman Stephanie Lau is the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the Conference announced on Wednesday. The rookie, Northwestern's second straight student-athlete to earn the weekly honor, set a 54-hole program scoring record this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championships in Tennessee.

Lau dazzled down the stretch on Sunday with five birdies over her final seven holes to finish the tournament in third-place at 10-under (206). The Fullerton, California, native opened and closed the event with 4-under 68's, the best single-round score of the weekend for Northwestern. Her 54-hole score eclipses the previous Wildcats record of 208 set by Lauren Weaver at the 2010 Lady Northern Invitational.

This is the second consecutive Big Ten Golfer of the Week award for the Wildcats. Sophomore Sarah Cho earned last week's honor after winning the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque.

Northwestern's 849 (-15) at last weekend's Mason Rudolph Championship shaved four strokes off the previous 54-hole program record (853) established at the 2014 Stanford Intercollegiate on the Par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
