Trio Named Big Ten Golfers To Watch For 2015-16

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Wildcats seniors Kaitlin Park and Suchaya Tangkamolprasert, and junior Kacie Komoto, have been named to the 2015-16 Big Ten Women's Golfers To Watch list, the Conference announced on Wednesday. This marks the second consecutive year Park has received the preseason recognition, and the first nod for both Tangkamolprasert and Komoto.
Park became the third golfer in program history to earn three All-Big Ten honors last season following her junior campaign. The Tustin, California, native won the 2013 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Award, and has compiled the third-lowest career scoring average in Wildcats history. Park geared up for her senior season by winning a sponsor's exemption to compete in the 2015 Meijer LPGA Classic this summer.
Tangkamolprasert not only earned First Team All-Big Ten recognition last season, but became the first Wildcats golfer to ever be honored as both a WGCA All-American and an All-American Scholar. The Bangkok native finished her junior campaign with a 10th-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, the highest individual finish ever by a Wildcat, and carded the lowest single-season scoring average in program history.
Komoto earned First Team All-Big Ten honors last year as a Northwestern sophomore and this summer added a Top-3 finish at the 85th Annual Trans National Women's Amateur. Her 74.64 scoring average through two collegiate seasons is the best in Wildcats history.
Northwestern women's golf opens the 2015 campaign at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 15 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The reigning Big Ten champions return four of the five golfers that propelled the group to a program-best 10th-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
