Amonte Hiller Announces Addition of 10 to Lacrosse Program

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern lacrosse head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller has announced the addition of 10 student-athletes to her program. Included in the group are nine incoming freshman and a junior transfer.
Joining the Wildcats will be Ivy Arlia (Plymouth, Mass./Thayer Academy), Kristin Cameron (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin), Nell Copeland (Houston, Texas/St. John's), Liza Elder (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids), Kim Harker (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac), Claire Quinn (Manhassett, N.Y./St. Anthony's), Danita Stroup (Port Coquitlam, B.C./Riverside Secondary School/LIU Brooklyn), Mallory Weisse (Westfield, N.J./Westfield), Brigid White (Palo Alto, Calif./Sacred Heart Prep) and Leighton Yenor (Orlando, Fla./Tim Creek).
"We are very excited about this year's incoming class," said Amonte Hiller. "We have a great deal of talent ranging from all different lacrosse backgrounds. This year overall the incoming class is extremely tall and athletic. We look forward to this dynamic group joining our current team."

Amonte Hiller on Copeland: Nell is a great competitor and an incredible athlete. She is extremely explosive on the field out of the defensive end. In addition, Nell has excellent offensive skills and is a difficult player to stop one on one.

Amonte Hiller on Stroup: Danita gained a great deal of confidence this summer winning the U-19 championship for team Canada alongside teammate Selena Lasota. She has incredible skill, finishing ability and smarts for the game. Danita has learned to operate very well in tight spaces from Box lacrosse experience.
Mallory Weisse

Amonte Hiller on Weisse: Mallory is a great competitor and leader in the cage. Through her high school experience Mallory was able to gain the confidence needed to become a top goalie nationally at her age level. She gained a great deal of experience this summer representing the US team in the U-19 world cup. Mallory's poise on the field and ability to make saves under pressure set her apart.

Amonte Hiller on White: Brigid is an extremely hard working athletic midfield. She has an incredible passion for Northwestern and it shows every time she steps onto lakeside field. Brigid is a great two-way player with speed and skill to match her passion.

Amonte Hiller on Yenor: Leighton is a tall attack with incredible finishing ability. She has great hands inside and knows where to be all the time. She excels when the pressure is on and knows how to step up for her team. She is a great team player and someone that you can always count on to finish the play.

Amonte Hiller on Stroup: Danita gained a great deal of confidence this summer winning the U-19 championship for team Canada alongside teammate Selena Lasota. Amonte Hiller on Weisse: Mallory is a great competitor and leader in the cage. Through her high school experience Mallory was able to gain the confidence needed to become a top goalie nationally at her age level. She gained a great deal of experience this summer representing the US team in the U-19 world cup. Mallory's poise on the field and ability to make saves under pressure set her apart.
