EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern men's and women's soccer will play 13 contests this season at Toyota Park, home of Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire, while renovations continue on Lanny & Sharon Martin Stadium through the fall. In an agreement announced Thursday with the Village of Bridgeview, the Wildcats men's programs will host six tilts at the 20,000-seat soccer facility, while the women's team will play seven games.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to compete in a venue that regularly hosts some of the best players in the world," said head men's coach Tim Lenahan. "Chicago is a great soccer town, something evident throughout last summer's World Cup and the great support the Chicago Fire receives. Our program is excited to showcase a high level of soccer to fans in the city and on the southwest side that may not regularly get to Evanston."

"This is a thrilling announcement for our student-athletes, their families and our program as a whole," said women's head coach Michael Moynihan. "Following a strong finish to last season, expectations and excitement are at an all-time high as we enter the 2015 campaign. This is a great reflection of our ongoing mission to provide a world-class experience to our student-athletes, while work continues to create an exceptional venue at Lanny & Sharon Martin Stadium alongside Lake Michigan."

Four of the six games played by the men's program at Toyota Park will be against Big Ten foes, starting with the conference opener against Ohio State on Friday, Sept. 11. Conference matchups also include meetings versus Indiana (Sept. 27), Rutgers (Oct. 16) and Michigan State (Oct. 24).

The Wildcats will play non-conference contests against Central Florida (Sept. 14) and 2014 NCAA Tournament qualifier Notre Dame (Oct. 20). The Fighting Irish advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament last season and will be facing off against the Wildcats for the 20th time in program history.

The women's program, which finished the 2014 campaign on a 5-1-2 run, will host seven games at Toyota Park, including three against opponents who earned bids to the 2014 NCAA Tournament -- Missouri, Rutgers and Penn State.

The Wildcats open at Toyota Park against St. Louis on Friday, Sept. 4, before facing off against Missouri (Sept. 6). The `Cats are also slated to host five Big Ten opponents at the MLS venue and will play its conference home opener against Maryland on Thursday, Sept. 24. The week also includes a matchup versus Rutgers (Sept. 27).

The `Cats will kick off October when they host Big Ten Regular Season Champion Penn State on the first Sunday of the month. Chicago's Big Ten Team upset the sixth-ranked Nittany Lions in the opening-round of 2014 Big Ten Tournament for the squad's first tournament win since 1997, and their first win over perennial national power Penn State since 1998. NU closes out its home schedule with a pair of games on Oct. 15 and Oct. 18 against Nebraska and Iowa, respectively.

Complete 2015 schedules for Wildcats men's and women's soccer will be released next week. Single-game and group tickets will be available for purchase in mid-July.
