RALEIGH, N.C. -- Paced by Suchaya Tangkamolprasert's 1-under 71, Northwestern turned in one of the three best team rounds of the day to vault six spots up the leaderboard on Friday at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The Wildcats will enter Saturday's final round in fifth-place, seeking one of the Regional's top six spots to punch their ticket to the team's third consecutive NCAA Championships.

Lonnie Poole G.C. humbled much of the field in Friday's NCAA Regionals second round, with 14 of the 18 teams on the course signing scoreboards at 15-over-par or worse at the end of the day. In the midst of that, the Wildcats carded a 4-over-par 292 to rocket up the leaderboard from 11th place at the start of the round, to fifth-place at the conclusion.

Tangkamolprasert, a junior, carded 15 pars and birdied two of her final three holes of the day to fire a 1-under 71, Northwestern's low score through its first ten rounds of the tournament. The Bangkok native has led Northwestern in all four previous NCAA events of her career, recording Top-25 finishes at the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships in both 2013 and 2014.

Freshman Sarah Cho parred 17 of 18 holes in round two for a 1-over 73 on Friday. Her 31 pars through two consistent rounds are the most in the event, with Northwestern's 131 pars through two days pacing the field as well.

Senior Hana Lee maintained the top position of any Wildcats golfer on the individual leaderboard with a 2-over 74, entering Saturday tied for 14th place at 3-over for the tournament. Sophomore Kacie Komoto also posted a 74 and ranks among the Top-25 individuals heading into the final round. Freshman Hanna Kim, the Big Ten Player of the Year, played her final 11 holes at 1-under en route to a 3-over 75.

The Raleigh Regional marks Northwestern's sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regionals under head coach Emily Fletcher and assistant Beth Miller. The Wildcats have advanced to the NCAA Championships each of the last two seasons.

The Wildcats will be paired with Coastal Carolina and Ohio State for Saturday's final round in Raleigh, teeing off on No. 1 beginning at 8:24 a.m. ET.
