Graduated in 2001 as the Wildcats' all-time leader in wins

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's women's tennis program is mourning the recent passing of Colleen (Cheng) Bajohr.

Bajohr enjoyed a standout career with the Wildcats from 1998-2001, including leaving NU as the school's all-time leader in singles wins with 118 (the mark has since been surpassed by Cristelle Grier).

A native of Hillsborough, California, Bajohr advanced to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship as a senior in 2001. The previous year, she paired with Katherine Nasser in the NCAA Doubles Championship field.

Bajohr was an All-Big Ten selection her senior year and was an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 1999. She played a key role in leading Northwestern to three Big Ten championships.

Head Coach Claire Pollard

"I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Colleen Bajohr. She was everything a coach could ever ask for. She worked hard at her craft, was determined to reach the stars, and brought her personality onto the court. She was fearless and a pioneer for women to be themselves and to strive for nothing but the best. Her spirit will long live in our program and we keep her family and particularly her son in our thoughts and hearts. She will forever be a Wildcat."
