Selena Lasota Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Tewaaraton Foundation announced Thursday the addition of Northwestern freshman Selena Lasota to the 2015 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, presented by Under Armour.
Lasota joins teammates Bridget Bianco and Kara Mupo who were named to the original watch list on February 26.
The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the Tewaaraton Award, which will be announced May 28 in Washington, D.C.
"These additions are validation for these deserving players that their hard work and commitment has been acknowledged by the selection committees," noted Jeffrey Harvey, Chairman of The Tewaaraton Foundation. "Congratulations to these individuals and their teammates."
Lasota has stormed onto the college lacrosse scene through her first 11 games, leading the Wildcats and ranking fifth nationally with 42 goals as of the national rankings posted on April 8. She has scored at least two goals in every game this season and has twice scored a season-high six goals - at Marquette on Feb. 21 and at Michigan on Apr. 2.
She has earned two National Rookie of the Week honors from Inside Lacrosse, three Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 23.
