Northwestern Places 11 on NFHCA National Academic Squad

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Eleven members of the Northwestern field hockey program have been honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) by being named to the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
To qualify for selection to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, a student-athlete must have compiled a GPA of at least 3.30 during the first academic period of the 2014-15 school year.
Fifth-year seniors Kelsey Thompson and Kristin Wirtz both earned the honor for the fifth time in their careers.
Northwestern was honored with the National Academic Team Award. The honor is bestowed upon each team that achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.
