EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 7 Northwestern looks to add two more wins to its record Saturday when it fences a pair of familiar foes at the Duke Duals in Durham, N.C. on Saturday.

The Wildcats have only two matches on tap Saturday at the Card Gym on the campus of Duke University. Northwestern is slated to take on North Carolina at noon CST before meeting the host Blue Devils at approximately 1 p.m. The 'Cats have been successful against both upcoming foes in recent weeks. Head coach Laurie Schiller's team put together an 18-9 victory over Duke to close out the Western Invitational on Jan. 17. The 'Cats toppled UNC, 19-8, at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion last Saturday.

Foilists Jen Yamin and Kaila Budofsky both went 3-0 against the Blue Devils at the Western Invitational for Northwestern. At home last weekend versus UNC, newcomer Katie Van Riper was unbeaten in three epée matches, while sabre fencers Julia Ablesky and Alisha Gomez-Shah won two times each against the Tar Heels.

Following this weekend's trip, select members of the team will travel to Richmond, Va., for the USA Fencing Association (USFA) Junior Olympics. The bulk of the group will reconvene on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Henry Crown Sports Pavilion for the Midwest Fencing Conference Championship.

The 'Cats moved up to seventh in the second edition of the CollegeFencing360 Coaches poll that was released this week. Duke ranks among the top team also receiving votes, while North Carolina is about three spots behind its instate rival.
