Mupo, Lasota Claim National Weekly Honors from Inside Lacrosse

EVANSTON, Ill. -- A day after being named the Big Ten Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week, Kara Mupo and Selena Lasota have garnered national honors from Inside Lacrosse.
Mupo was named the National Player of the Week for the first time in her career as she scored five goals, including the game-tying tally with 37 seconds left in regulation, in the Wildcats' 12-11 victory at USC. The Miller Place, N.Y., native surpassed the 100-goal plateau with her career-high five-goal performance.
Lasota led the `Cats with six points in her collegiate debut, scoring four goals while dishing out a pair of assists. She scored a goal and tallied an assist in the first half to help spark the offense before ultimately scoring the game-winning goal just 57 seconds into overtime.
Northwestern trailed USC by as much as 7-0 in its season opener before the play of Mupo and Lasota sparked a dramatic come-from-behind victory.
The No. 5 Wildcats will be back in action Saturday when they take on No. 7 Virginia at the Cobb County Classic in Atlanta, Ga. First draw is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
