A Pinning Machine
• Dominick Malone has been a pinning machine so far this season, winning four of his six matches by fall.
• All of Malone's falls have come in the first period. His fastest was a 45 second pin of teammate Ian Cramer at the Michigan State Open on Nov. 15. He has one other pin in less than a minute - a 56 second win over Scott Stevens of Franklin & Marshall in the Wildcats 30-18 win at the Grapple at the Garden.
• Malone has won five matches in a row, including three by fall and one by tech fall. His closest match in that span was a 10-3 decision over Drexel's David Pearce at Madison Square Garden.
Brill on a Mission
• Redshirt freshman Bryce Brill dominated in his first two matches of the 2015-16 season. He handed Drexel's Richard Viruet an 18-2 tech fall loss before going on to pin Andy Francos of Franklin & Marshall in just 50 seconds.
• Brill missed almost the entire 2014-15 season due to injury, but is now 6-0 in his young Northwestern career after winning all four of his matches in his first season before the injury.
Norland a Fixture in the Lineup
• True freshman Luke Norland will be the starter at 165 lbs. this season after redshirt freshman Johnny Sebastian had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
• Norland is already 2-0 in his Northwestern career after winning both of his matches at the Grapple at the Garden. He came from behind in both, beating Austin Rose of Drexel in sudden victory, 8-6, and erased a deficit vs Franklin & Marshall's Gordon Bolig to earn a pin in 4:08.
