EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern will play host to the eighth-annual Windy City Collegiate Classic Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Ill.

A strong 15-team field once again descends on Chicagoland for what has become one of the nation's premier women's college golf events. In addition to Northwestern, which is coming off a program-best 10th-place finish at June's NCAA Championships, the Windy City features 2015 NCAA Championships qualifiers Arizona, Purdue and Southern California. Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Iowa State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Tulane, UC Davis, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin round out the field. USC edged the Wildcats by three strokes to capture the 2014 Windy City Classic Championship.

Those squads will compete in 36 holes of play beginning with 7:30 a.m. CT tee times off both the front and back nines on Monday, Oct. 5, before playing the final 18 holes in the same manner on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Admission is FREE for all spectators.

Northwestern's team lineup in the 5-count-4 format includes the reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Week, freshman Stephanie Lau, 2015 Big Ten Player of the Year Hannah Kim, 2015 All-Big Ten honorees Kacie Komoto and Suchaya Tangkamolprasert and 2015 Big Ten Individual Champion Sarah Cho, who won the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.

Wildcats senior Kaitlin Park, junior Minjia Luo and freshmen MacKenzie Hawkes, Janet Mao and Monica Matsubara will also compete as individuals.

Founded in 1911, Westmoreland Country Club has played host to the Western Open, the Western Amateur and both the Chicago District Golf Association's Women's Championship and USGA Women's Amateur Championship. The original 1912 course design by William Watson has undergone several renovations, most recently by Arthur Hills in 1993.

The Wildcats enter the Windy City aiming to maintain the momentum of a historic performance in their last competition. Northwestern (849) and Lau (206) carded the lowest 54-hole scores in program history at the 15th Annual Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville. The 'Cats placed four golfers in the Top-17 to secure a second-place result, the program's second consecutive Top-2 finish against top-flight competition to open the 2015-16 season.

Lau dazzled down the stretch on Sunday with five birdies over her final seven holes to finish the tournament in third-place at 10-under (206). The rookie's 54-hole score eclipsed the previous Wildcats record of 208 set by Lauren Weaver at the 2010 Lady Northern Invitational.
