EVANSTON, Ill. – Single-match and Midlands tickets are on sale now for the 100th season of Northwestern wrestling.
 
The Wildcats welcome Big Ten opponents Ohio State (Dec. 18), Iowa (Jan. 10), Penn State (Jan. 17) and Minnesota (Feb. 5) to Welsh-Ryan Arena this season. Duke will also pay a visit to Evanston in February. For the complete 2015-16 Northwestern wrestling schedule click HERE.
 
Group promotions will run all season long and specific match-by-match promotions are available at each home event. For a full list of promotions during the 2015-16 season click HERE.
 
Northwestern will also host the 53rd annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, a two-day competition held at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 29 and Wednesday, Dec. 30.
 
The Wildcats finished third at Midlands last year. The only two programs to place higher than Northwestern – Iowa and Illinois – will again be participating in 2015.
 
Junior Jason Tsirtsis, ranked No. 1 at 149 lbs. in several preseason polls, will look to defend his Midlands title from last year.
 
42 teams will compete in Evanston this December, including nine from the Big Ten. Those schools are: No. 3 Iowa, No. 10 Nebraska, No. 13 Illinois, No. 14 Wisconsin, No. 19 Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Purdue and Rutgers.
 
Iowa has won six of the last eight Midlands titles, including each of the last two.
 
Five other ranked teams will also travel to Evanston: No. 12 Lehigh, No. 15 Old Dominion, No. 17 Northern Iowa, No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 20 Iowa State.
 
Other teams competing at the Ken Kraft Midlands are: Adams State, American, Arizona State, Bloomsburg, Brown, Buffalo, Cal Baptist, Columbia, CSU-Bakersfield, Eastern Michigan, Franklin & Marshall, George Mason, Grand Canyon, Grand View, Harvard, Kent State, Lock Haven, Messiah College, North Carolina State, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Princeton, Rider, SIU-Edwardsville and South Dakota State.
 
The 42 teams and over 400 competitors in 2015 will make up the largest Midlands field in tournament history.
