EVANSTON, Ill. -- Winner of 15 consecutive home matches, the 14th-ranked Northwestern field hockey team opens its 2014 home campaign with matches against Dartmouth on Friday and No. 15 Louisville on Sunday at Lakeside Field. Both matches are slated for a noon start.
In addition, Louisville and Dartmouth will square off at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside Field.
NU's streak on its home turf dates back to Oct. 30, 2011 when it posted a 1-0 win over Louisville. The 'Cats proceeded to win all seven of their matches at Lakeside Field in both 2012 and 2013.
Northwestern's record 16-game home winning streak spanned the 1987-89 seasons.

NU got the year started with a 3-2 double-overtime win at Boston University on Friday before being edged by third-ranked and defending national champion Connecticut on Sunday. Northwestern bounced back on Tuesday by posting a convincing 5-1 victory at Miami (Ohio).

Ali Savage, a two-time first-team All-Ivy and All-Northeast Region selection, enters her senior season eight points shy of 100 for her career after recording 15 goals and nine assists in 2013.
