EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fresh off one of the top wins in program history, No. 13 Northwestern welcomes another Big Ten newcomer to Evanston on Friday as it hosts Rutgers before welcoming No. 17 Indiana to Lakeside Field on Sunday.

Friday's contest is slated for a 3 p.m. start while Sunday's contest gets underway at noon.

Northwestern opened its Big Ten season last Saturday as it defeated second-ranked Maryland in the Terrapins' first game in their new conference. Maryland's ranking represented the highest ranked opponent the Wildcats have defeated on record going back through the 1996 season.

Junior Kelley Stump scored two goals and senior goalkeeper Maddy Carpenter recorded eight saves en route to being named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

The multi-goal game was the second of the season and of her career for Stump. Carpenter's eight saves marked a season high.

Northwestern followed up the victory with a 5-1 win over Ball State on Sunday as five different Wildcats recorded goals.

Sophomore Isabel Flens notched one of the team's goals against the Cardinals and leads the squad with seven this season. Charlotte Martin recorded a career-high three assists vs. Ball State and is tied for the Big Ten lead with nine helpers. Teammate Lisa McCarthy is tied for fourth in the conference with seven assists.

Northwestern enters play this weekend having won 18 of their last 19 contests at home. The lone loss was a 1-0 decision on Sept. 7 to a Louisville squad that is ranked No. 11 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA top 20 poll.

This weekend's games represent NU's final home contests until Oct. 25 as the 'Cats will head out on the road each of the next three weekends spanning five matches.

All three of the Wildcats' losses this season have come by one goal against ranked foes. At No. 13, Northwestern is the fourth highest ranked Big Ten team of the seven league teams that appear in this week's top-20 poll. The 'Cats trail Maryland (4), Penn State (7) and Iowa (8) and are in front of Michigan (14), Indiana (17) and Michigan State (18).

Scouting Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights (4-3) dropped their first-ever Big Ten game on Sunday, falling 3-0 to Iowa in Piscataway. Sophia Walia, Katie Champion and Nicole Imbriaco are all tied for the team lead with four goals with Walia also notching a team-best five assists. Shevaun Hayes has a .704 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average for Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have outscored their opponents 12-10 in the first half of games this season but have been outscored 10-4 in the second half. Sunday's contest will be the first all-time meeting between Northwestern and Rutgers.

Scouting Indiana
The Hoosiers (7-0) enter their contest at Iowa on Friday as one of just two undefeated teams in the nation, joining St. Francis (Pa.). The Hawkeyes will be the first ranked team that Indiana has faced this season. IU is led by senior Audra Heilman who ranks second in the Big Ten with nine goals this season. In goal, Maggie Olson ranks second nationally with an .871 save percentage and third with an 0.62 goals-against average. Northwestern defeated Indiana 2-0 in Bloomington last season and leads the all-time series 12-7, including 7-1 in matches played in Evanston.
