Kaitlin Park Wins Mission Hills Q-School Prep Event

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. -- Northwestern rising junior Kaitlin Park claimed medalist honors at the Mission Hills Q-School Prep Event over the weekend. The competitive tournament, played at the Mission Hills Country Club from Aug. 13-15, featured a mix of amateurs and professionals and served as a prelim to the Stage 1 of LPGA Q-School.
After 54 holes, Park was tied for first with Courtney Harter with a 1-under 215. The Wildcat golfer then defeated Harter in a sudden death playoff to capture medalist honors and win the tournament.
The Tustin, Calif., native had two rounds under par, carding a 4-under 68 during the second round and a 2-under 70 on the final day. During the second round, Park utilized seven birdies, including four on the back nine for a 68 and added on five more birdies during Sunday's final round.

A two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree, Park played in all 12 events during the 2013-14 season and ranked second on the team with a 74.63 scoring average. She posted two top-10 finishes and seven top-20 showings, including a second-place finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
