EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Lacrosse fans in the Chicagoland area are invited to catch their first glimpse of the 2014-15 Wildcats during NU's upcoming home fall ball weekend (Oct. 11-12). Parking and admission on both Saturday and Sunday are FREE and open to the public.
On Saturday, Northwestern will square off with an up-and-coming Colorado team coached by a familiar face to fans of the Wildcats, Ann Elliott. Elliott won three national championships as a standout defender for the Wildcats and helped guide NU to two more NCAA titles during her four years as an assistant coach to Kelly Amonte Hiller. The Buffs posted an impressive 11-8 mark in their inaugural season last spring.
Saturday's action between the Wildcats and Buffalos is slated for a 1 p.m. CT opening draw at NU's Lakeside Field.
The following day, the action moves off campus to nearby Loyola Academy's Munz Campus, located at 1901 Johns Drive in Glenview. Northwestern and Colorado will welcome Marquette into the fold for a three-team round-robin schedule of games that will be played on the following timeline:
GAME 1 (9:40 a.m.-11 a.m.): Northwestern vs. Colorado
GAME 2 (11:20 a.m.-12:40 p.m.): Northwestern vs. Marquette
GAME 3 (1 p.m.-2:20 p.m.): Marquette vs. Colorado
Looking ahead, the Wildcats will close out their fall ball schedule with their annual alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Noon CT at Lakeside Field. That event also is free and open to spectators.
